Why Choose High Peaks TMS?
Colorado Springs has multiple TMS providers. Here is a direct, honest comparison of what makes High Peaks TMS different — and why it matters for your treatment outcome.
Not all TMS clinics are the same. Here is what to look for — and what we offer.
NeuroStar — Exclusively
High Peaks TMS uses only NeuroStar — the most clinically studied TMS device in the United States, with over 5.5 million treatments delivered and the broadest FDA clearance record of any TMS system.
Some Colorado Springs clinics use multiple TMS platforms depending on availability and insurance. We made a deliberate choice to specialize on one device because we believe depth of expertise matters more than breadth of hardware. Every member of our clinical team is NeuroStar-certified and has worked exclusively with this platform.
Military Expertise That Goes Beyond Billing
Our clinical team includes veterans who have served and who understand the culture, the barriers, and the specific clinical presentations common among active-duty personnel and combat veterans. We are not a general psychiatry practice that also accepts TRICARE.
Our Veteran Benefits Coordinator is a VA-accredited claims agent and combat medic veteran. He manages the entire TRICARE and VA Community Care referral process — a distinction that matters when authorizations are denied or when the referral pathway is unclear.
Full Insurance Management — No Calls, No Paperwork
We do not hand you a form and ask you to call your insurance company. We call your insurer, verify your specific benefits, submit all prior authorization documentation, track status to approval, and appeal denials when warranted.
Our Insurance & Prior Authorization Specialist has handled TMS authorization across hundreds of cases at BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, United, and Medicare. Most patients receive a complete picture of their coverage before their first in-person visit.
No Doctor Referral Required
You do not need a referral from your primary care doctor or psychiatrist to contact us or schedule a consultation. You can call us directly, complete the contact form, or take our online candidacy quiz — and we initiate the process from there.
The only exception: VA Community Care patients, who require a PCM referral as part of the VA authorization process — and we help you obtain that referral with specific language and documentation your PCM needs.
Board-Certified Psychiatric Oversight — Every Session
Every TMS course at High Peaks TMS is supervised by a board-certified psychiatrist. Your treatment protocol, stimulation parameters, and clinical progress are reviewed by a physician — not just a technician.
We track outcomes using validated clinical scales (PHQ-9, GAD-7) throughout the treatment course and coordinate directly with your referring provider or existing psychiatric team.
Downtown Colorado Springs — Built for This Community
We are not a national chain. We are a clinic built specifically for Colorado Springs — for the military community at Fort Carson, Peterson SFB, USAFA, Schriever, and Cheyenne Mountain, and for the civilian community across El Paso County.
Located at 24 S Weber St, Suite 345 in downtown Colorado Springs, 15 minutes from Fort Carson. Early morning scheduling starting at 7:30 AM accommodates shift work, duty schedules, and school drop-offs.

The difference shows up in the details.
I called three TMS clinics before High Peaks. The others needed a referral letter before they'd even talk to me. Here I had an insurance answer in 24 hours and a start date within the week.
As a veteran, I've dealt with VA systems for years. David at High Peaks handled the entire Community Care referral — I made zero calls. That alone was worth it.
The psychiatrist actually reviewed my case personally. At the last clinic I went to, I never met the doctor. Here the medical director was involved from day one.
